 FAWNA
Age: 1.5 years
Ideal Home: A quiet, patient, cat-savvy home with confident feline companions who can help her feel safe

Background:
Fawna came from a home where the cat population had grown to 33 cats. While many of the cats from this situation adjusted quickly, Fawna has found the transition to shelter life very overwhelming. Despite her fear here, we know she once lived comfortably with her owner and is capable of being a loving companion. She simply needs time, patience, and the right environment to help her feel safe again.

Personality:

  • Shy and frightened in the shelter environment
  • Needs time to build trust
  • Perks up noticeably when other cats are around

Good With:

  • Other confident, friendly cats (required)

Does Not Prefer:

  • Loud, busy, or chaotic environments
  • Sudden changes or overwhelming activity

Fawna may not be the first cat to run up for attention, but she deserves just as much love and safety as any other cat. With patient adopters, gentle encouragement, and feline friends to show her the ropes, Fawna has the chance to rediscover her confidence and become a deeply rewarding companion.

He eventually made his way to WOASH to find his forever home. His former caretaker still visits, and we’ve already seen him make wonderful progress in building confidence.

Personality:

  • Timid at first, especially with new people
  • Forms deep, trusting bonds once he feels safe
  • Will come up for pets and even flop onto his side when comfortable
  • Gentle, sensitive soul with a lot of love to give
  • Blossoming more each day with patience and reassurance

Good With:

  • Patient, cat-savvy adults
  • Calm, understanding homes
  • People willing to give him time to adjust

Does Not Prefer:

  • Loud, chaotic environments
  • Being rushed or forced into interaction

Prescott may not be the first to greet you at the door, but for someone willing to give him time and patience, he will become an incredibly special and devoted companion. Adoptable Cats & Kittens in Foster Care

Most kittens are in foster homes. All pets require an appointment to meet them, but especially kittens, as meet and greets depend on foster availability. To schedule a meet and greet please call 412-672-8901.

Generally, kittens do best with other pets in the home, especially another cat friend. Nearly all WOASH adoptable kittens require another cat in the home or to be adopted as a pair. We typically do not allow kittens do be adopted as the singular pet in the household, unless they require otherwise.

Foster Families Needed

Cat-Savvy Fosters Needed

We have a few kitties who need a cat-savvy foster family, or foster-to-adopt home, to work with them on socialization. These cats are not feral, but they are not well socialized. We know they have it in them to be loving companions given the right circumstances and a patient person. Please consider serving as a socialization foster or a foster-to-adopt family. The kitties to consider are Ricardo, Isley, Fenne, or Midnight!

KITTENS

We are always in need of reliable foster homes for kittens up to 6 months old, moms cats with nursing kittens, and neonatal kittens. Our greatest need is fosters willing to take on a mom and nursing kittens!

WOASH can provide food, litter, and other supplies while foster families provide the love and care. Once kittens are of appropriate age and vet care, they begin seeking their forever homes through the WOASH adoption process.

Call to inquire about becoming a kitten foster home.

*The pictured kittens have been adopted and are not in need of a foster home.*

Found kittens or a mom with nursing kittens? Offer to one time foster! By offering to foster the kittens through our shelter, we can provide supplies and care, you just provide the space, love, and care!
