COSMO
9 month old red heeler mix
I am friendly, playful, and curious - everything you could want in a furry companion! I enjoy meeting new people and getting lots of pets and scratches. While I might be too playful for small children (…I’ve knocked down a few smaller ones), I promise to be your very best friend if you take me home!
I have a lot of energy and love to go on walks and play outside. I also love to cuddle up next to you and snuggle! I like most dogs and love running around with my doggy pal Nola. I think I’m better with female dogs than males, but we can always try a meet n greet and see if we hit it off. My shelter humans are going to cat test me soon, but will get a move on for serious inquiries. I am young and eager to learn, so I will thrive in a loving home where I can get lots of attention and care. If you are looking for a fun and affectionate companion, I am the one for you!
DANIEL TIGER
4.5 year old beagle mix
Daniel Tiger is an absolutely charming 4.5-year-old Beagle mix, weighing around 25 lbs. This lovable boy was adopted from us in October 2023 and unfortunately had to be returned when his owner couldn't meet his needs. It was a tough decision for all involved, and now Daniel Tiger is eager to find his final forever home.
Daniel Tiger is incredibly sweet and friendly. He enjoys going on walks, exploring his surroundings, and playing. Most of all, he loves being by your side. As a Beagle mix, he has the energetic personality typical of the breed, so his new family should be prepared to meet his activity needs and understand his prey drive. Despite being almost 5 years old, Daniel Tiger has a youthful spirit that will keep you on your toes!
While Daniel Tiger can be reactive towards some dogs, we always conduct a meet-and-greet with potential doggy siblings to ensure compatibility. He needs a home without cats and would do best in a household without small children.
NOLA
2.5 year old husky/collie mix
Nola is a beautiful 38-pound, stunning girl!
Nola used to have a family, but somehow ended up unclaimed at animal control. Now, she's eager to leave the kennel life behind and find a loving family. She gets along well with other dogs, especially her friend Cosmo at the shelter. She prefers dogs that match her play style and respect boundaries.
She needs a home without feline friends, but she would do well with kids. Being a mix of two high-energy breeds, she would thrive in an active household.
PENELOPE
2 year old rottweiler/aussie mix
Penelope is not only beautiful but also incredibly sweet-natured. Sadly, she came to us through no fault of her own when her previous owner could no longer keep her due to their landlord. She's a keen listener and remarkably intelligent. Her previous owner dedicated much time to her training, and she excels in basic obedience commands, even knowing fun tricks like roll over. Penelope walks well on a leash and enjoys playing with toys (though watch out for the stuffing - she eats it!).
This lovely gal thrives on companionship and prefers not to be alone for long. She gets along well with cats and most other dogs, although her herding instincts shine through when she plays—ideal for dogs that match her energy level or don't mind a bit of lively interaction. Penelope is eager to leave the kennel environment behind and return to the comfort of a loving home.
EMBER
5.5 year old female
Ember, or as we like to call her, Emmie or Em-Bear, is a purr-fect lap cat! She is so loving and affectionate with people. Ember isn't a big fan of the other kitties here in the shelter, so she would be happiest as the only kitty in her home. We are unsure of dogs. Ember will be such an amazing companion for a relaxed and docile family to snuggle with all day!
EVERETT
2 year old male
*In foster care
Everett is currently placed in a foster home for socialization. He would love to find a very patient and calm adopter or long term foster family. He is a fearful kitty, and unfortunately we don't know much about his background. When he first arrived, we were able to pet him, but he was clearly petrified. Now that he is not paralyzed with fear, he makes it very clear he does not want to be touched. Right now, Everett makes a great silent roommate. He gets along okay with other cats, but the other cats in his foster home don't like him. He is interested in the laser pointer and climbing cat towers, but struggles with fear and lack of confidence when humans are present. We are still working to find what motivates Everett. He needs a very special and patient home.
Everett had one moment of inexplicable affection where he laid on his foster mom’s lap for about 5 minutes. He sought out affection, but hasn’t done so since. We know Everett has it in him to be a sweet boy with the right placement.
KAZU
2 year old male

He is a goofy guy! Kazu loves other cats and is very reliant on other kitty friends for confidence and comfort. He would do best in a calm home.
After a few weeks here, Kazu began coming out of his shell more. He loves to spend time with people, but enjoys it even more when he has some of his trusted cat friends around to remind him that he can be a secure and confident boy! He enjoys lounging in a cat tower and basking in the sunshine.
LOUIE
12 year old male
Louie is a handsome black panther boy. His owner passed and he is in need of a new forever family. Louie is very docile, and a bit scared in the shelter setting. Once he knows you, he loves head scritches and rolling around. He also loves his cardboard scratch pad!

7 month old male
Syrup came to us with his two brothers, Waffles and Pancake, after being found outdoors as stray kittens. Their finder tried her best to find homes for the boys, but sadly was not finding success. She had the boys neutered and fully vaccinated, and sought our help so that they could find forever homes, as she knew she was not equipped to take on 3 more pets.

TOVA
8 month old female
Tova is one of 7 kitties we brought in from deplorable living conditions. Tova is an attention craving girl! Her favorite thing in life is being petted by literally anyone who will give her the time of day. When she's not asking for your affection, she loves to hang out with other kitty friends. Tova would be happiest in a home with other cats, because she once lived with 19 cats, and having other cat friends is all she's ever known.
Most kittens are in foster homes. All pets require an appointment to meet them, but especially kittens, as meet and greets depend on foster availability. To schedule a meet and greet please call 412-672-8901 or email adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com.
