Briar's Spotlight

BEAUREGARD
Age: 10 years
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Size: 6 lbs
Ideal Home: A quiet, loving home where he can be spoiled and snuggled

Background:
Beauregard—affectionately known as Beau—came to us as a stray, and we’re still wondering how such a sweet little gentleman ended up alone. At 10 years old and just 6 lbs, Beau is a tiny senior with a huge heart and an even bigger love for cuddles. He’s currently looking for a foster-to-adopt home, which means his forever family can take him in now while the shelter completes his remaining medical care. Once he’s cleared, the adoption can be made official!

Personality:

  • Extremely affectionate and cuddly
  • Calm, easygoing, and people-focused
  • A professional lap dog
  • Loves naps, gentle attention, and being held

Good With:

  • Most people, including gentle older children
  • Calm households that appreciate senior dog needs
  • Possibly other low-energy pets

Does Not Prefer:

  • Being alone for long periods
  • Busy or chaotic environments

Medical Notes:

  • Being treated for a skin condition (likely folliculitis), which has left him with patchy fur—he may stay a little "naked," but we think it adds to his charm

  • Bloodwork looks good overall, with a few follow-ups in progress
  • Only has two teeth left—but that doesn’t slow him down one bit!

Beau is the ultimate snugglebug, ready to spend his golden years loved, warm, and adored. If you have room in your heart (and on your lap), Beau may be the perfect little companion for you.

Adoptable Cats & Kittens in Foster Care

Most kittens are in foster homes. All pets require an appointment to meet them, but especially kittens, as meet and greets depend on foster availability. To schedule a meet and greet please call 412-672-8901.

Generally, kittens do best with other pets in the home, especially another cat friend. Nearly all WOASH adoptable kittens require another cat in the home or to be adopted as a pair. We typically do not allow kittens do be adopted as the singular pet in the household, unless they require otherwise.

Foster Families Needed

Cat-Savvy Fosters Needed

We have a few kitties who need a cat-savvy foster family, or foster-to-adopt home, to work with them on socialization. These cats are not feral, but they are fearful and defensive. We know they have it in them to be loving companions given the right circumstances and a patient person. Please consider serving as a socialization foster or a foster-to-adopt family Dr. Seuss.

KITTENS

We are always in need of reliable foster homes for kittens up to 6 months old, moms cats with nursing kittens, and neonatal kittens. Our greatest need is fosters willing to take on a mom and nursing kittens!

WOASH can provide food, litter, and other supplies while foster families provide the love and care. Once kittens are of appropriate age and vet care, they begin seeking their forever homes through the WOASH adoption process.

Call to inquire about becoming a kitten foster home.

*The pictured kittens have been adopted and are not in need of a foster home.*

Found kittens or a mom with nursing kittens? Offer to one time foster! By offering to foster the kittens through our shelter, we can provide supplies and care, you just provide the space, love, and care!
