Age: 5 years
Breed: Terrier Mix
Size: Medium
Ideal Home: A loving home ready to help Waverly continue gaining weight and strength while giving her the affection, companionship, and stability she deserves

With a new feeding schedule and plenty of love, Waverly is gaining weight and getting healthier every day. We expect her healthy weight to be around 40 pounds.

Waverly still has some healing and growing to do, but she is ready to continue her journey in a home of her own. We have a feeling she was someone’s dog once—someone’s couch buddy, car ride companion, and snuggle girl. Now she’s looking for a family who will love her and never leave her behind.

Ash is a petite little guy for his age, but he certainly doesn't have a small personality! He is incredibly sweet and affectionate and absolutely loves attention. If you're looking for a loving companion with a big personality packed into a petite body, Ash may be your guy!

The three now love spending their days together playing, chasing toys, and getting into all sorts of kitten adventures.

Chardonnay is ready to find her forever family! She would love to go home with one or both of her friends, but she would also be happy in a home with another friendly feline companion.

She's looking for a family who can keep up with her energy and give her a friendly feline companion to share all of her adventures with.

Ideal Home: A quiet, calm home where he can decompress at his own pace with a patient family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe again

Background:
Fred was originally adopted from White Oak Animal Safe Haven in 2016. Sadly, he recently found himself back at the shelter after his owner passed away and there was no family member able to care for him.

Coming back to the shelter after so many years in a home has been incredibly difficult for Fred. He is currently very shut down and extremely fearful in the shelter environment. We are taking things slowly and giving him the time and patience he needs to process this enormous change.

Fred has already lost the person he knew and loved for so many years, and we desperately want his next chapter to be a happier one. He may need time to let his personality shine again, but with patience, understanding, and a safe place to call home, we hope Fred can finally begin to heal. He deserves a peaceful forever home where he can feel safe and loved again.

  • High-energy or overly chaotic environments
  • Being rushed into relationships with other cats

Health Info:

Farryn is a beautiful girl with an even more beautiful heart. Whether she's accepting gentle pets, curled up in her favorite bed, or eagerly accepting a tasty treat, she's happiest when life is peaceful and predictable. With a little love, a soft brush, and plenty of cozy naps, Farryn will make a devoted and wonderful companion for the lucky family who gives her the second chance she deserves.

 GEORGE

Age: 9 years
Ideal Home: A quiet, calm home where he can decompress at his own pace with a patient family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe again

Background:
George was originally adopted from White Oak Animal Safe Haven in 2016. Sadly, he recently found himself back at the shelter after his owner passed away and there was no family member able to care for him.

After spending so many years in a loving home, the sudden loss of his person and return to the shelter has been incredibly overwhelming. George is currently very shut down and extremely fearful, so our staff and volunteers are taking things very slowly while giving him the time and patience he needs to begin feeling safe again.

Personality:

  • Very fearful and shut down right now
  • Quiet and overwhelmed in the shelter
  • Needs time to decompress and regain confidence
  • Needs patience and gentle encouragement
  • Experiencing a major transition after many years in a home

  • Calm, quiet households
  • Patient adults
  • Someone willing to give him time and space
  • A home where he can decompress at his own pace

Does Not Prefer:

  • Loud or chaotic environments
  • Being rushed or overwhelmed
  • Fast-paced households

George has already experienced the heartbreaking loss of the person he knew and loved, and now he's trying to understand why his entire world has changed. We hope his time at the shelter is short and that his next home will be a peaceful one where he can slowly come out of his shell. George deserves the chance to feel safe, loved, and secure again.

 LIANA

Age: 2 years
Ideal Home: A quiet, adult-only home with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let Liana adjust at her own pace

Background:
Liana came to us after she was found hiding underneath someone's car. She was dehydrated, wasn't feeling well, and needed a safe place to land. Before coming to us, Liana had been TNR'ed, so people are still a very new and scary thing for her.

Since arriving, Liana has been making small but meaningful progress with our staff and volunteers. She is handleable once she trusts you and has started accepting gentle pets. On her own terms, she will even lean into them. These little moments may seem small, but they are a huge step for a girl who is still learning that people can be trusted.

Personality:

  • Very timid and fearful
  • Gentle and handleable once trust is established
  • Slowly becoming more comfortable with people
  • Accepts gentle pets when she feels safe
  • Makes progress at her own pace
  • Needs patience, consistency, and understanding

Good With:

  • Patient adults
  • Quiet, calm households
  • Another calm, friendly cat with proper introductions
  • Someone willing to give her plenty of time to adjust

Does Not Prefer:

  • Loud or chaotic environments
  • Being rushed or overwhelmed
  • Young children
  • Fast-paced households

Liana isn't the type of cat who will settle into a new home overnight. She may need weeks or even months to truly feel safe, but for the right person, watching her slowly discover that she is loved will be incredibly rewarding. She's safe now, and we're hopeful that her next chapter will be filled with the patience, understanding, and love she deserves

Zinfandel is looking for a family who will appreciate her energy, give her plenty of playtime, and provide her with a feline friend to share her adventures with.

Adoptable Cats & Kittens in Foster Care

Most kittens are in foster homes. All pets require an appointment to meet them, but especially kittens, as meet and greets depend on foster availability. To schedule a meet and greet please call 412-672-8901.

Generally, kittens do best with other pets in the home, especially another cat friend. Nearly all WOASH adoptable kittens require another cat in the home or to be adopted as a pair. We typically do not allow kittens do be adopted as the singular pet in the household, unless they require otherwise.

Katerina and Agnessa are a wonderful little pair, and we would love to see these sisters find a forever home where they never have to be apart.

Foster Families Needed

Cat-Savvy Fosters Needed

We have a few kitties who need a cat-savvy foster family, or foster-to-adopt home, to work with them on socialization. These cats are not feral, but they are not well socialized. We know they have it in them to be loving companions given the right circumstances and a patient person. Please consider serving as a socialization foster or a foster-to-adopt family. The kitties to consider are Ricardo or Midnight!

KITTENS

We are always in need of reliable foster homes for kittens up to 6 months old, moms cats with nursing kittens, and neonatal kittens. Our greatest need is fosters willing to take on a mom and nursing kittens!

WOASH can provide food, litter, and other supplies while foster families provide the love and care. Once kittens are of appropriate age and vet care, they begin seeking their forever homes through the WOASH adoption process.

Call to inquire about becoming a kitten foster home.

Found kittens or a mom with nursing kittens? Offer to one time foster! By offering to foster the kittens through our shelter, we can provide supplies and care, you just provide the space, love, and care!
