EXODUS aka X
1 year old pit mix
Say hello to Exodus, aka X, our adorable 1-year-old pittie mix who weighs just 30lbs of pure sweetness. Despite her timid nature, this little peanut is full of love and potential, and she's looking for someone special to help her shine. X is a medium-sized gal who won’t grow any bigger—making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet pup to share their life with.
X seems to have had a rough start, and we believe her past left her a little cautious. She’s shy around new people, places, and experiences, but with time, patience, and trust, she’s slowly coming out of her shell! Her favorite spot so far? Snuggling up in her cozy blankets, quietly watching the world go by from the safety of her kennel.
X was found by animal control, and the details of her past remain a mystery. Now, we have the chance to give her the bright, happy future she deserves. This girl is still learning to trust, and while she might be fearful at first, once she knows you’re safe, she’ll happily join you on any adventure!
Her journey to confidence is well underway, but she’ll need patient, calm, and understanding owners to continue her growth. X is food-motivated, which makes training easy and fun, and we know she’ll continue to blossom into the incredible companion she’s meant to be.
The quickest way to X’s heart is through other pups. She thrives in the company of her doggy pals and needs at least one other dog in her new home. A friendly and playful doggy sibling will help her feel secure, confident, and loved. She’s much more at ease when she has a furry friend by her side, and we believe that with the right doggy buddy, X will flourish in her forever home.
X loves having a safe space to retreat to when she feels overwhelmed, like a comfy bed or a crate. She’s a sensitive soul who needs a calm, predictable environment to feel truly at home. X would do best in a home with older teen aged children.
If you’re looking for a sweet, shy, and loving companion who just needs a little time and patience to open up, X might be the perfect match for you.
MARSHAL
1 year old pit mix
Marshal has had a bit of a rough start. After surviving Parvo as a puppy, he spent months in a foster-based rescue with little interest, waiting for his chance to shine. But now that he’s with us, he’s showing us just how much love and potential he has to offer.
While he’s a little nervous around new people and unfamiliar places at first, once he gets to know you, he’s the biggest cuddle bug. Marshal is a gentle soul who just wants companionship, but he’ll need someone patient to help him build his confidence and feel secure in new situations. With the right support, we know he’ll blossom into the amazing, affectionate dog he was meant to be.
Marshal thrives when he has the company of other dogs, and we believe he would do best in a home with at least one other dog to help him feel safe and comfortable. His confidence soars when he knows he has a canine buddy by his side, and he’s also been great with cats who are used to dogs.
Given his sweet, sensitive nature, Marshal would do best in a home with teen-aged children, where he can feel more at ease. While he’s been around younger kids in the past, the unpredictability and noise of small children might make him feel a bit uneasy, so a calm, predictable environment would be ideal.
Marshal has one big wish: he hates being in a kennel. He just wants to be with his people or other pups, and it breaks our hearts to see him sad and alone. But with the right family, we know he’ll leave kennel life behind and finally experience the love and stability he’s been craving.
MAXWELL
5 year old pit mix
If you're looking for a fun-sized, affectionate companion with a heart full of love, look no further—meet Maxwell! This handsome 5-year-old pittie mix is 37lbs of pure joy, and he’s ready to win you over with his charming smile and playful personality.
Maxwell is the ultimate “good boy”—friendly, affectionate, and full of energy! He loves going on walks, hanging out with people, and especially running around in the play yard, where he shows off his adorable bunny hops. He’s got a zest for life and is always ready for some fun. Whether it’s playtime or cuddle time, Maxwell is always up for both!
Though we’re still getting to know Maxwell, we believe he’d do well with other pups. As always, a doggy meet-and-greet is required to ensure he’s a good match with any potential canine siblings. We’re unsure about cats at this time, but we're happy to cat-test for serious inquiries.
Maxwell is looking for a warm, cozy bed in a loving home where he can be part of the family. With the holidays approaching, wouldn’t it be wonderful if he could spend this season surrounded by the love and security he deserves?
YUKON
1-2 year old husky
Yukon is a stunning Husky with an adventurous spirit and an amazing personality! This sweet boy was originally picked up by animal control and was never claimed. We cannot believe it. Yukon currently weighs around 45 lbs, and is a tad underweight with visible hips and spine. He is trying to pack on some pounds so he can be happy and warm on his adventures!
Yukon is an explorer at heart! He loves to go on walks and listens wonderfully on a leash. His sweet nature makes him an excellent companion for anyone looking for a dog with a fun, easy-going demeanor. He’s also a big fan of treat training and enjoys a good snuggle, making him super easy to bond with. And don’t be surprised if he serenades you with a song or two — this Husky loves to sing!
Yukon gets along well with other large, playful dogs. We do require meet n greets between any potential dog siblings to make sure they’re a good match! While we’re not sure about his reaction to cats just yet, he’s shown little interest in looking in our cat room and seems more focused on people for some much-needed snuggles.
Due to his size and energy, Yukon would do best in a home with older children who can keep up with his playful spirit.
YUUMI
2 year old terrier mix
This teeny 29-pound mixed breed beauty is ready to steal your heart! Her exact breed? That’s a mystery for you to solve during a meet-and-greet! But fair warning, Yuumi is so much more adorable in person! – instead of sitting still for pictures, Yuumi would rather crawl into your lap for some cuddles and snuggles!
About Yuumi:
Age: Around 2 years old
Size: Fully grown (and staying small! )
History: Picked up by animal control, Yuumi came to us scared and underweight. With love and care, she’s now blossoming into the happiest little pup!

ANDRE
5 year old male
Andre is a large and handsome five-year-old gray cat with a heart as big as his stature. Found as a stray, Andre is still adjusting to the changes in his life but has shown his sweet nature by leaning into head scratches and seeking out treats. He’s a big fan of catnip toys and loves tucking himself into cozy cat cubes for a bit of quiet time.
Shelter life has been an adjustment for Andre, particularly being around other cats. Right now, he’d do best in a calm home where he can be the center of attention as the only cat. However, it’s important to note that when Andre arrived, he was an unneutered male—a status that often influences how cats interact with others. With time, patience, and understanding, Andre could potentially adjust to sharing his space with another feline.
If you’re looking for a laid-back companion who enjoys the simpler things in life, like head scratches and a comfy spot to lounge, Andre may be the perfect fit for your home. Give this sweet, solid boy the chance he deserves to shine in a calm and loving environment.

POUNCER
1ish year old male
Pouncer is a 1-2-year-old male cat who’s been through a lot. He was found as a stray, living outside for quite some time, and is now learning to adjust to the comforts of a home. Because of his past, Pouncer can be a bit shy and still needs time to fully trust and open up.
While he’s a little reserved at first, Pouncer LOVES treats and is very food-driven, so he’ll happily come closer for a tasty snack! He will accept gentle pets, and with a little patience, he’s sure to warm up and become a loyal and affectionate companion.
Pouncer is still getting used to his new life and would do best in a calm and understanding home. We recommend a family with no small children or children who are overly energetic, as Pouncer needs a peaceful environment to feel safe and secure.
If you’re looking for a cat who just needs a little time and love to blossom, Pouncer could be the perfect fit. He’s on his way to becoming the sweet, trusting cat he’s meant to be.
Most kittens are in foster homes. All pets require an appointment to meet them, but especially kittens, as meet and greets depend on foster availability. To schedule a meet and greet please call 412-672-8901.
Generally, kittens do best with other pets in the home, especially another cat friend. Nearly all WOASH adoptable kittens require another cat in the home or to be adopted as a pair. We typically do not allow kittens do be adopted as the singular pet in the household, unless they require otherwise.
DJ
9 month old female
DJ has been in foster care since June 2024, and in that time, she has blossomed from a very shy kitten into a playful and loving companion – once she feels safe. Her foster has worked tirelessly to help DJ build trust and confidence, and now this special girl is ready to find her forever family.
At about 9 months old, DJ is full of energy and adores other cats. She will thrive in a home with friendly, playful feline companions who can match her energy and help her feel more secure. Feather toys and playtime are her absolute favorites, and she can spend hours chasing after her favorite string toy!
Though she still has moments of nervousness, DJ loves to snuggle up with her foster mom when things are calm and quiet. She’s learned to trust the people she knows, but she’ll need a patient and understanding family willing to give her the time she needs to settle in and build that same trust. DJ is looking for a calm home where she can continue to grow in confidence, surrounded by love and the companionship of other cats. With time and patience, DJ will show her new family just how rewarding it is to gain the trust of a cat like her. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this special girl? If so, DJ is ready to meet you! Please call our office to schedule an appointment to meet DJ at 412-672-8901.
SAMMY
17 year old male
Sammy is a 17-year-old gentleman with the sweetest soul. He’s affectionately known by his many nicknames, including Sam Sam Turkey and Ham, Sam I Am, and General Sampson the Third. Sammy’s life has been full of ups and downs. His owner passed away, and his other owner is incarcerated. When the landlord came to change the locks, Sammy was sadly put outside.
Despite his hardships, Sammy is a loving and affectionate boy who misses his human dearly. He’s looking for a soft place to land—a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years.
About Sammy:
- He loves to be petted and is obsessed with treats and catnip.
- Sammy gets along with all humans and has been fine with other cats after some initial hissing.
- We’re unsure if he’s lived with dogs, but due to his age, we think a dog-free home would be best.
- Sammy is door-dashing curious and will need a vigilant foster to ensure he stays safely inside.
Sammy does have some health concerns, including a suspected cancerous lump on his hip, and general old age. He’ll need some extra care and TLC at home, and further vet care will be required to determine more.
If you have space in your heart and home for this sweet senior, Sammy would be forever grateful to have a soft place to call his retirement home. Let’s give him the love and security he deserves in his golden years.
Interested in being Sammy's long-term foster family? Please reach out for more details at 412-672-8901. Sammy is currently with a temporary foster, but would love to find a place to call his own. Let’s make sure his final chapter is full of love and kindness.
