Adoptable Dogs

 BAGEL
Age: 3 years
Breed: Bully Mix
Size: 50 lbs
Ideal Home: A calm, loving home where he can decompress, gain back his strength, and spend plenty of time with his people

Background:
Bagel was transferred to us from animal control after he began struggling with the stress of kennel life. Originally picked up as a stray in December, he waited patiently for a family that never came. The constant noise and chaos became overwhelming for this gentle boy, and the stress began to affect his health. He lost weight, his coat thinned, and it became clear he needed a quieter place to recover. Since arriving with us, Bagel has been settling in well. Our focus now is helping him regain weight, feel secure again, and prepare for the loving home he has always deserved.

Personality:

  • Gentle, affectionate, and incredibly sweet
  • Very people-oriented and happiest spending time with his humans
  • Walks beautifully on a leash
  • Polite and well-mannered in his kennel
  • Loves meals, treats, and quiet companionship

Good With:

  • Would be best starting at home as the only dog or possibly with a female dog pending a meet and greet

Does Not Prefer:

  • Cats

Bagel is the full package: handsome, loving, and deeply loyal. What he wants most is a peaceful home and a family who will cherish him the way he deserves.

Personality:

  • Calm, affectionate, and snuggly
  • Enjoys walks and spending time with her people
  • Loves treats and cozy blankets
  • Simple, loving, and loyal

Good With:

  • Other dogs
  • Likely cats and children (can cat-test for serious inquiries)

Does Not Prefer:

  • Homes lacking patience or quiet spaces to feel safe

Della is a tender-hearted companion who thrives on love, comfort, and routine. She’s ready to spend her days snuggling, walking, and simply being a devoted friend to her forever family.

 GUNNER
Age: 1 year
Breed: Lab Mix
Size: Medium
Ideal Home: An active home with structure, patience, and older kids who are comfortable with an energetic young dog

Background:
Gunner was picked up as a stray and is still adjusting to shelter life. The kennel environment can make him a little nervous at first, but once he warms up, his bright, joyful personality shines through. He’s ready to leave kennel stress behind and find a forever family who will help him continue building confidence.

Personality:

  • Rambunctious and full of youthful energy
  • Loves zoomies and active playtime
  • Absolutely obsessed with snow and outdoor fun

 JEREMY

This lovable goofball was picked up as a stray, and somehow we ended up with one of the sweetest, silliest, most entertaining dogs around. Jeremy is pure joy wrapped up in a lanky, wiggly body.

 MISSY

 Age: 8 months

Breed: Husky mix

Size:  40 lbs

Ideal Home: A patient home that will give Missy time to continue building confidence. She would likely thrive with another confident dog to help guide her. Because she can still be nervous with loud or unpredictable environments, she would do best in a home with older teens rather than young children.

Background:

Missy lived her whole life with the same group of dogs, suddenly finding herself in a kennel when her family could no longer provide care for the number of dogs they had. She was very overwhelmed in her new environment.

Personality

  • Sweet and affectionate
  • Loyal and people-focused
  • Playful and energetic
  • Smart and eager to learn
  • Shy at first but bonds deeply with her people
  • Loves running and being outside

Good With

  • Dogs
  • Likely cats
  • Older teens

Does Not Prefer

  • Young children
  • Loud or chaotic environments

With time, patience, and lots of love from our team, Missy has slowly begun to realize that people can be kind and that she is safe here. Watching her confidence grow has been truly incredible. The light has come back into her eyes, and her happy, playful personality is starting to shine

She can still be shy when meeting new people, but once she trusts you, she forms a deep bond and will reward your patience with endless affection and loyalty. Missy is also a very smart girl who is learning quickly and has so much potential to continue thriving in a loving home.

 ROBOT

Adoptable Cats

 FAWNA
Age: 1.5 years
Ideal Home: A quiet, patient, cat-savvy home with confident feline companions who can help her feel safe

Background:
Fawna came from a home where the cat population had grown to 33 cats. While many of the cats from this situation adjusted quickly, Fawna has found the transition to shelter life very overwhelming. Despite her fear here, we know she once lived comfortably with her owner and is capable of being a loving companion. She simply needs time, patience, and the right environment to help her feel safe again.

Personality:

  • Very shy and frightened in the shelter environment
  • Needs time to build trust
  • Perks up noticeably when other cats are around
  • Observant and quiet while she assesses her surroundings
  • With patience and consistency, she has the potential to blossom into a loving companion

Good With:

  • Other confident, friendly cats (required)
  • Cat-savvy adults or older, respectful children
  • Calm, patient households willing to work with a shy cat

Does Not Prefer:

  • Loud, busy, or chaotic environments
  • Sudden changes or overwhelming activity

Fawna may not be the first cat to run up for attention, but she deserves just as much love and safety as any other cat. With patient adopters, gentle encouragement, and feline friends to show her the ropes, Fawna has the chance to rediscover her confidence and become a deeply rewarding companion.

GI-GI
Age: 2 years
Ideal Home: A calm, loving home with other friendly cats and patient adopters who will give her time to settle in

Background:
Gi-Gi came from a home where the cat population had grown to 33 cats after reproduction got out of hand. She arrived at WOASH with a litter of kittens only a few weeks old and devoted herself to raising them. Now that her babies are weaned, Gi-Gi is ready to begin a brand new chapter—one where she can finally relax and be someone’s beloved companion instead of a busy mom.

Personality:

  • Petite, gentle girl with a sweet nature
  • Loves being petted and will happily soak up affection
  • A vocal little lady who likes to chat with her people
  • Curious and observant as she explores her surroundings
  • Enjoys curling up in a soft, cozy bed
  • Becomes snuggly and affectionate once she feels comfortable and safe

  • Other cats (would do great in a home with feline friends)
  • Cat-respectful children and older kids
  • Patient adopters who will give her time to settle in

Does Not Prefer:

  • Very loud or chaotic environments

After raising her kittens and living in a crowded environment for much of her life, Gi-Gi is ready to discover what it feels like to be cherished in a calm, loving home. With her sweet personality and gentle charm, this little chatterbox will make a wonderful companion for someone ready to give her the peaceful life she deserves.

 MADELYN
Age: 4 years
Ideal Home: A loving home that appreciates a social, talkative cat and doesn’t mind a little daily conversation

Background:
Madelyn came to us from a home with 33 other cats where reproduction had gotten out of control. She raised her kittens like a superstar mom, and now that they’re weaned, she’s officially retiring from motherhood and ready to enjoy life as someone’s spoiled baby. Madelyn has handled a lot in her young life, and now she’s ready for a fresh start where she can be loved and adored.

Personality:

  • Extremely social, affectionate, and people-oriented
  • Possibly the most talkative cat you’ll ever meet
  • Loves to “chat” and will happily carry on full conversations with you
  • Will absolutely announce when she wants attention
  • Sweet, loving girl who adores petting
  • Curious and outgoing with a big personality

Good With:

  • Other cats
  • Cat-respectful children
  • Families who enjoy an interactive, social cat

Does Not Prefer:

  • Being ignored when she has something important to say

Madelyn is full of personality, affection, and opinions — and she can’t wait to share them all with her future family. If you’ve ever wanted a cat who truly talks back and keeps you company throughout the day, Madelyn is ready to be your new best conversationalist.

Adoptable Cats & Kittens in Foster Care

Most kittens are in foster homes. All pets require an appointment to meet them, but especially kittens, as meet and greets depend on foster availability. To schedule a meet and greet please call 412-672-8901.

Generally, kittens do best with other pets in the home, especially another cat friend. Nearly all WOASH adoptable kittens require another cat in the home or to be adopted as a pair. We typically do not allow kittens do be adopted as the singular pet in the household, unless they require otherwise.

Foster Families Needed

Cat-Savvy Fosters Needed

We have a few kitties who need a cat-savvy foster family, or foster-to-adopt home, to work with them on socialization. These cats are not feral, but they are not well socialized. We know they have it in them to be loving companions given the right circumstances and a patient person. Please consider serving as a socialization foster or a foster-to-adopt family. The kitties to consider are Ricardo, Brulee, or Midnight!

KITTENS

We are always in need of reliable foster homes for kittens up to 6 months old, moms cats with nursing kittens, and neonatal kittens. Our greatest need is fosters willing to take on a mom and nursing kittens!

WOASH can provide food, litter, and other supplies while foster families provide the love and care. Once kittens are of appropriate age and vet care, they begin seeking their forever homes through the WOASH adoption process.

Call to inquire about becoming a kitten foster home.

*The pictured kittens have been adopted and are not in need of a foster home.*

Found kittens or a mom with nursing kittens? Offer to one time foster! By offering to foster the kittens through our shelter, we can provide supplies and care, you just provide the space, love, and care!
