As sweet and playful as Bella is, you would never know the rough couple of months she has had since coming to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven.
Bella was surrendered to us in the end of January. She was found on a back porch looking for warmth and a safe place to birth her kittens.
Bella lived with a foster family for a couple weeks until she went into labor. Unfortunately, during delivery one of the kittens became stuck and Bella had to be rushed into surgery for an emergency c-section. Within 48 hours, she developed a severe infection and became unable to nurse or care for her babies. Sadly, even with continuous care being provided by experienced volunteers, the kittens failed to thrive and all four passed away.
Bella was required to stay at the vet for over two weeks to get the infection under control. She is currently placed in a foster home where she continues to receive meds and critical care.
She has come such a long way. Her progress has steadily improved and her spirit is unwavering, which is amazing considering all that she has been through.
With her vet care in the thousands, WOASH is reaching out to our generous supporters in the hopes of offsetting the expensive care she has had and continues to require. Bella has additional surgeries coming up to have her belly sutured, and she will need to continue with her critical care.
Every little bit helps. Please help us continue to care for Bella so that we can help her find the loving home that she so desperately deserves.
