Arrived: 7/11 | Status: Ready to find his forever family!
Slurpee isn’t just handsome—he’s the full package: smart, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. Found as a stray on 7/11 (yes, like the drink he’s named after!), this clever boy has been stealing hearts ever since.
With his striking looks and expressive personality, Slurpee stands out in every way. He’s incredibly intelligent and always thinking one step ahead—curious about everything and constantly exploring his environment. Whether it’s a cozy hiding spot or a shiny object, Slurpee is eager to investigate with that sharp little brain of his.
Slurpee is also incredibly loyal. He’s not clingy or overly cuddly, but he genuinely enjoys being near his people and knowing what you’re up to. He’ll often hang out nearby, quietly observing, offering his presence as a steady little shadow. And when he’s feeling overwhelmed or simply needs a break, Slurpee knows exactly what to do—he’ll retreat to one of his favorite nap spots to rest and recharge, all on his own terms.
When he’s feeling comfy, he turns into a lovable goofball—rolling onto his back, flopping around dramatically, and begging for pets. His playtime is pure joy to watch: he leaps, darts, and pounces with acrobatic flair, especially when catnip crayons, flying feathers, or tasty treats are involved. Treat time is a full-on event for him, complete with jumps and zoomies!
When Slurpee first arrived at the shelter, he was chill with other animals. He’s always had a big personality and embraced his role as king of the castle, but he showed a fondness for respectful dogs and tolerated most cats. Over time, though, life at the shelter took its toll. Like many animals, Slurpee grew stir-crazy and stressed, especially while living in our bustling office space where he met new people and animals every day. Despite our efforts to provide him with his own space and enrich his environment, we watched his frustration and territorial behavior increase.
Thankfully, Slurpee recently moved into a foster home with both adult cats and foster kittens—and the change has made all the difference. He adjusted quickly and has shown that he can live safely with other cats, particularly those who are confident, laid back, and not afraid to set boundaries. He entered a household of well-established, bonded cats, which encouraged him to practice better social manners. He even has a kitty admirer who’s obsessed with him—though the feeling isn't quite mutual! While he may not be every cat’s best friend, he coexists well with tolerant, no-nonsense feline housemates. We believe the same could be true for dogs that match his vibe, but we haven’t had a chance to observe that firsthand in his foster home.
Because of his high energy and tendency to get overstimulated, Slurpee is best suited to a home with older kids or teens who can read cat body language and respect his space. His enthusiasm can come out in the form of play biting—not aggression, just a spirited cat caught up in the moment. With plenty of interactive play and mental stimulation, Slurpee channels that energy in positive ways and becomes a loving, loyal companion.
Slurpee is also FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives and coexist safely with others—and Slurpee’s time in foster care proves he’s capable of sharing his space when the fit is right.
If you’re looking for a clever, charismatic companion with tons of personality (and love) to give, Slurpee is your guy. Are you the one he’s been waiting for?
