Yes, you read that right. We do not accept walk-ins. Whether you are surrendering your own pet or a stray you found, you must have an appointment. We are a small shelter and cannot guarantee we will have available space. We operate using a wait-list system and we rarely have the ability to take same-day surrenders. If you need immediate placement, please be respectful and understanding if we are unable to help. We can offer a list of resources in the area to contact.
Please call us at 412-672-8901. Our staff will ask for basic information from you, such as type of pet, age, sex, current level of veterinary care, and personality traits. We only accept cats and dogs at our shelter.
Our cat and dog coordinators will add you to our wait list and give you an estimated amount of time it will take for us to be able to accept your pet. At some point, we do have to stop accepting new additions to the wait list due to an unrealistic amount of wait time. Again, we ask that you please be respectful and understanding.
